Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress who was born in Berkeley on the 1st October 1996. She is an American actress who has appeared in Choices (2010) as well as The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2004).
Asia Argento was born in Rome, Italy, into the family of actors and film makers, two careers which she has herself taken up. The actress made her film debut when she was nine years old in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni. In 1988 she was the lead of Cristina Comencini's Zoo and a member of Michele Soavi's The Church. Red Wood Pigeon, the film that she played Nanni Moretti's little daughter was released just a few years later. But it was Close Friends by Michele Placido that saw Asia's acting career take off. It was well received during the Cannes International Film Festival. Daria Nicolodi is Argento's most loved actress, and she played a young anorexic woman seeking to find her parents' killer in Trauma. Asia worked alongside Dario Argento on three movies, Trauma, The Stendhal Syndrome, and The Phantom of the Opera. In Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato a nozze, Asia's absorbed style of intense acting was utilized well. Co-starring with Carlo Verdone in Perdiamoci di perspective as Arianna the girl who was physically handicapped. The intricate and challenging character earned her the David di Donatello Prize for the Best Actress. In 1995, she collaborated along with Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte Compagna di viaggio and won a David di Donatello. Asia began directing short films in 1994. She also produced an episode of the film De Generazione. 1996 saw her directing a documentary alongside her dad. 1998 saw her direct AbelAsia on the legendary filmmaker Abel Ferrara. This film won a prize at the Rome Film Festival. Asia was the director of her first feature film Scarlet Diva (1999), in which she was both the main actress in the film and the author of its screenplay. It premiered worldwide on May 20, 2000. The Williamsburg Festival for Films in Brooklyn, New York awarded the film with a prize.
